World Cup 2026 pushes homeless people out of host cities: RED CARD

According to Jules Boykoff, author of the book Red Card: The 2026 World Cup, Sportswashing, and the Fifa Greed Machine (OR Books, 2026), "sporting mega-events" such as the World Cup tend to "amplify the already existing trend in the United States: the criminalization or even the demonization of homeless people".
